Course Description

Course Description

This intermediate, hands-on Alpha Theta neurotherapy course is designed for established neurofeedback practitioners ready to translate theory into clinical practice. Through software demonstrations (BEELab and Thought Technology), interactive Q&A sessions, and collaborative grand rounds discussions, participants will learn to confidently initiate and facilitate Alpha Theta neurofeedback sessions. Students will complete practical assignments including creating visualization scripts, conducting self-sessions, and analyzing real session data, all while receiving expert guidance on troubleshooting, session review strategies, and identifying critical crossover patterns. This course bridges the gap between foundational knowledge and skilled clinical implementation of this powerful trauma treatment modality.

Learning Objectives

Students will be able toโ€ฆ

  • Initiate a basic Alpha-Theta neurofeedback session.
  • Identify the โ€œingredientsโ€ critical to the facilitation of alpha-theta neurotherapy.
  • Summarize (in no more than two sentences) one example of an ego-strengthening
visualization that can be used in alpha-theta sessions

Prerequisites

Participants must have one volunteer (not a paid client) to participate in an Alpha Theta Session

All participants should be established neurofeedback practitioners who have completed Sadar
Psychologicalโ€™s self-paced Alpha Theta Course or submit proof of other foundational learning in
Alpha Theta.

  • Able to detect artifact
  • Comfortable identifying frequency bands (ie: Delta, Theta, Alpha)
  • Competent in navigating clinical grade neurofeedback software and equipment.
  • There is a great deal that needs to occur before the actual Alpha-Theta training. Because
one necessary element is helping the client/patient relax, students need to be proficient in
at least one relaxation technique such as biofeedback, autogenic training, progressive
    muscle relaxation, or similar.
