Patient Services – EEG Evaluation and Neurological report costs

Our evaluations and patient services are designed to help guide you to  the best type of intervention to help improve how you feel and perform.

A functional EEG  or quantitative EEE evaluation is the first step towards recommendations that are best for you including therapies, medications, lifestyle modifications, Biofeedback, and Neurofeedback therapy.

Patient Services – Biofeedback and Neurofeedback Costs

The cost for Biofeedback or Neurofeedback cost will depend on a number of factors, including:

  • how quickly you respond to training
  • how compliant you are with recommendations outside of training (eg., sleep routine, nutrition, exercise, etc.)
  • your goals and your testing results

If you elect to receive any biofeedback/neurofeedback services at our office, there is an additional fee of $50 beyond that of an office visit. If you are using insurance, your co-pay and deductible will apply.

In general, neurofeedback training requires a minimum of 20 sessions.  The average number of sessions is 30-50.

The number of sessions required for biofeedback depends on a number of factors, but generally biofeedback (heart rate variability, muscle tension/GSR and temperature training) requires 2-5 sessions.

Insurance Information

We accept most major insurance plans for most services provided.  Insurance companies vary greatly in their coverage and reimbursement of services.

Are the evaluations and neurofeedback covered by insurance?

Short answer. It depends. It depends on your insurance company.

We are proud of the lengths we go to help clients by making our costs as affordable (and as transparent) as possible while maintaining the high quality of services.

As you may know, dealing with insurance can be confusing.  At your first appointment, we will call your insurance company to assess your plan’s coverage and to determine if the services you seek require pre-authorization.  Please be advised, that just because an insurance plan covers a specific service, this does not necessarily mean they will pay for the same service. For instance, many insurance companies cover biofeedback, but will require specific diagnoses to consider biofeedback medically necessary and to reimburse for the service.

We encourage you to compare costs with other assessment services.  You will learn most psychological and neuropsychological assessments measure performance, not the underlying brain mechanisms that limit or impair the performance.  The results obtained are limited if a person experiences depression, anxiety, ADHD, etc.  A Functional EEG evaluation measures how the brain is optimized and how inefficiencies limit performance.
